Welcome to the Education, Technology & Culture Lab — also referred to as the etcetera lab. The etc. lab is directed by Dr. Fernando Rodriguez, Assistant Professor of Teaching, in the School of Education at UC Irvine.

We investigate the effects of technology-centered learning on student attitudes and behaviors, exploring various platforms such as online courses and AI tutoring systems. Additionally, we examine how learning technologies can help foster collaborative international engagement. We also consider how technology has become embedded into students' day-to-day study activities, reflecting a new culture of learning.

Our lab was specifically built to provide undergraduate students with research opportunities. Students are trained in research design, statistics, learning theories, and data analysis in R.
